2024 RCC Roubaix

RCC Roubaix hosted by the RCC Gravel Committee


The RCC Roubaix has been a staple in the RCC Gravel calendar with over 10-year history hosting this spring classic. Pioneers of GRAVEL, RCC started this event years before gravel was cool or gravel specific bikes were even a thing. By staying off the pavement, riding off-road becomes an adventure where google maps is your new best friend to endless possibilities.


When: Sunday, April 28th 2024. Package pick up 9:30-10:30am. Start 11am neutral roll out to the base of James St climb. Short course riders will start at 11:30, 30mins after long course.


Where: River Park Campground, Lumsden, Sask. Parking and start of the neutral roll out located directly across the road from the Lumsden RCMP Detachment.


Washrooms: Washrooms, change rooms and showers are available at the Campground. Please be respectful and keep them clean.


Distance: Short 1 lap(~30km) and Long 2 lap(~60km) distance options.

Categories: Women’s long and Women’s short. Men’s long and Men’s short. A new 30km “Party Pace” category will be added this year. No timing, no racing, just pure riding for the fun of it! This group will roll out with the short race 30 mins after the long race.

Volunteers : If you have friends or family that would like to help us out, please let us know! In return, volunteers will receive a GRAVEL tee shirt and a free meal.

Race loop with neutral start to base of James St.

Long course/2 lap riders will ride through the finish line and turn right on HWY 641 back to Lumsden, turning right onto James St to complete a second lap. Make note of way points on the course map with crucial course information to better prepare yourself.

Riders MUST make a complete stop at all stop signs with one foot on the ground. If caught not obeying this rule, riders will be immediately disqualified.


Course will be fully marked with orange pilons.

Turns will typically have 2 pilons guiding you along the course.


KOM / QOM of the Roubaix: A prize will be given to the fastest male and female on a designated segment on the course. Your ride must be uploaded to Strava immediately after the race to qualify. This year’s segment will be the grueling Pumpkin Hallow Climb East.

Cost : $60.00. Online registration. - Closes Friday April 26th at Noon. No refunds.

Riders MUST have a SCA Membership. Joining the RCC is encouraged.

If you choose not to purchase a SCA membership for the year, a one-day license can be purchased for $20.00.  This gives you insurance for the event.  Here is the link to purchase the licence through CCN. Please have it completed before you come to the race. Please have the email confirmation ready to show us at sign in to make things go quickly.

What’s included?

- World famous GRAVEL tee that every Sask gravel enthusiast has grown to love. Tee shirt order goes in April 1st so you MUST be registered by Sunday March 31st to guarantee your shirt and size. Any rider registered after this date will not be guaranteed a shirt and size.

- Food will be provided following the event from the Campground Canteen.

- Hammer Nutrition is a sponsor for this event. Expect top quality race nutrition at the race.

- Draw Prizes from local bike shops (Dutch Cycle, Western Cycle)

- Beer and chocolates will be prizes for the top 3 racers in each category.

Other info:

- The race is approximately 80% gravel/dirt and 20% pavement. The bike of choice will be a gravel bike, mountain bike, cross bike, fat bike, or anything that can handle off road terrain.

- Make sure to bring the appropriate equipment for flat tires, bike mechanicals etc.

- Water, Pop, treats will be supplied immediately after the race for a quick sugar boost before enjoying the ride back to the campground.
