Welcome to the 42nd Annual La Ronge Don Allen Saskaloppet!
Hosted by the La Ronge Ski Club with support from the Lac la Ronge Provincial Park, community sponsors and volunteers.
The Don Allen Saskaloppet is back again. In June 2025, the Pisew Fire ("pisew" is the Cree word for lynx) burned 80% of the Saskaloppet Trail and three of the Saskaloppet's warm-up cabins. But hard work by Park staff and Ski Club volunteers mean that the 2026 Saskaloppet can go ahead as schduled.
This year's Saskaloppet will begin on Friday, March 6, 2026 with the 12:30 noon start of the 2-day Kupesewin event. Then, on Saturday, March 7, 2026 , the Saskaloppet's main event gets underway with skiers being able to choose distance options of 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, 12 km, 20 km, 35 km or 55 km.
Classic & Free Technique
The Saskaloppet Trail will be set with both a skate lane and a classic track.

They will also be responsible for transporting children back to the Legion Hall.
Treaty Land Acknowledgment
The La Ronge Ski Club and the Don Allen Saskaloppet Committee acknowledge that the Saskaloppet's route goes through the land of the Cree, a people who have made their living here since ancient times. We respectfully ask that as skiers travel through the landscape, they reflect on the Cree people's long connection to the land and their willingness, through treaty, to share it with those visiting their traditional territory.
