2022/23 LSNA FA Race Events

The Lakehead Superior Nordic Association (LSNA) sub-committee is excited to offer new race events for the 2022-2023 nordic ski season. All of these race events will be hosted by LSNA (Big Thunder Nordic Ski Club and Lappe Nordic Ski Club) at Lappe Ski Centre.

The intent is to have low-key, low stress events as a way to expose skiers in the community to ski racing. The race events have the following objectives:

• Provide opportunities for local skiers to participate in a number of different race events with a variety of race formats in a low-key environment.
• Provide appropriate technical and physical challenges to racers.
• Provide opportunities for clubs to develop the capacity to run races.
• Provide race options for local skiers not travelling out of the area for races.
• Provide an opportunity for volunteers to learn the ropes.

Race 1a - Thursday November 24 at December 1 at 6:30 pm (low snow date Thursday December 1) - Time Trial - 3 / 6 / 9 km Interval Start Classic

Race 1b - Saturday December 10 at 9:30 am - Ontario Winter Games Qualifier - YOB 2007, 2008, 2009 (2010, 2011 are invited to participate), followed by U16 and older - King’s Court Sprint (heats based on Race 1a) at 11:00 am

Race 2a - Thursday January 12 at 6:30 pm - Time Trial

Race 2b - Saturday January 21 at 9:30 am - Sprint Format based on TT #2a

Race 3 - Thursday February 16 at 6:30 pm - TBD

Race 4 - Thursday March 30 at 6:30 pm - King & Queen of the Hill

Athlete Withdrawal

In the event of withdrawal from the event by an athlete, a refund of the registration fee (not including zone4 and credit card fees) will be offered, so long as the request to withdraw is received in writing before the close of registration.

Cancellation by Host

In the event of cancellation of Race #1a, registration fees (not including the zone4 and credit card fees) will be returned to registrants.
