Date: Sunday, February 15, 2026
2026 Barnebirkie Registration Includes:
- Classic-technique, track set ski course in Gold Bar Park with official start
- Barnebirkie race bib
- Viking Costume Contest; email photo of you on the Barnebirkie course to president@canadianbirkie.com; we will notify the winners by February 20, 2026.
- Finish line snacks and refreshments
- Hand-made birch wood medal!
- Ski Patrollers and certified medical personnel
- Love and admiration of dedicated volunteers
Schedule
- 11:00 am - park & pick up race package
- 11:30 - get the skis on & be ready to start
- 11:45 - opening speeches from dignitaries
- 12:15 -2pm enjoy games snacks & refreshments
- 2 pm event closes
Remember to bring along your winter boots to take part in the festivities once you are done your ski.
Please note that, in accordance with OH&S regulations, the Canadian Birkebeiner Society is not responsible for individuals after 2:30 PM.
Bib Pick- up at the Friday Feb. 13th Birkie Festival in Sherwood Park or at the Sunday Feb 15, 26 Barnebirkie Event Site
Bibs can also be picked up on site Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
Registration
Registration is available online until February 15 till 1 pm. Registration is also available in person at the Barnebirkie site from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
Five Bucks for All!
Everyone, big and small, is charged the very small amount of $5 per person.

All skiers under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult skier.
