Masters Camp - Sovereign Lake Nordic Club
December 1-3, 2026
This camp is intended for Adult and Masters Athletes (ages 30 and up) who have some prior biathlon experience, ranging from beginner to advanced.
Training Focus:
This camp will focus on shooting and skiing technique and competition preparation. Athletes will develop and refine skills towards participation in BC Cup #1 at Sovereign, December 5-6, 2026.
Shooting fundamentals—range entry, position set-up, position, 5 across shooting sequence, and triggering—will be developed and refined.
Skiing fundamentals - Powerline and power position, and well as technique transitions for racing
Competition Preparation will include race planning, visualization, and mental prep
Dates and Times of Training Sessions:
All training sessions will take place at Sovereign Nordic. The schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, December 1, 12:00 - 4:30 PM
- Wednesday, December 2, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Thursday, December 3, 9:00-4:30 PM
- Evening social Thursday, December 3, time and location TBD
- BC Cup #1 race support is not included in the camp
Meals, Accommodations, and Transportation:
Athletes are responsible for their own meals, accommodations, and transportation during the camp. There are no food service facilities available at Sovereign Lakes. Athletes must bring their own lunch, water, and snacks each day.
Coaches:
- Head Coach: Avalon Richter : Sovereign Lake Youth Biathlon Coach. Avalon is a coach in Biathlon BC’s Development Squad and is currently in the CAC Canada Winter Games Apprentice Program. Avalon has quickly become a leading coach in biathlon in BC.
- Guest Coaches
- Chris Halldorson : Telemark Nordic Head Coach and Program Director. Chris has coached at all levels of the sport including Head Coach of the Biathlon Alberta Training Centre and periods leading teams at World Cup, IBU Cup, and Junior World Championships. Chris is well known as one of the best technical and most experienced coaches in the country
- Eric Schryer: Eric is the Head Coach of the Sovereign Development Centre, a training centre geared towards athletes 18-24 years old gunning for the National Biathlon Team. Eric has coached multiple tours on the World Cup, IBU Cup and Junior World Championships.

A detailed daily camp schedule and packing list will be circulated before the start of the camp.
Camp Fee
The fee for the camp is $525. Cancellation fee $15. This includes coaching services, range fees, and ski passes at Sovereign Lake. Athletes must provide their own biathlon equipment and 1000 rounds of ammunition for the camp. Athletes must have a valid PAL.
