Yellowknife Ski Club - Adult Training Program 2026-27
Our Adult Cross Country Ski Program is a year-round training program for adult skiers who want to improve their fitness, develop their skiing skills, and enjoy training in a supportive community.
The program begins with its first dryland training session on Wednesday, July 15, and will continue through the summer and fall before transitioning to on-snow training when winter arrives.
Dryland sessions will focus on building ski-specific fitness through strength, endurance, and intensity training. Whether your aim is to become a stronger skier, improve your technique, or prepare for races, this weekly opportunity will help you advance your goals. Sessions will be led by experienced coaches.
The program meets once a week on Wednesday evenings from 7:00–8:30 p.m. Throughout the fall and winter, there may also be additional training opportunities or group sessions.
The registration fee is $75, which covers the summer, fall, and winter seasons. Skiers are welcome to join the program at any point during the year. Participants must also be current members of the Yellowknife Ski Club.
Participants of all fitness levels are welcomed. Training sessions will be designed with options to accommodate a range of abilities and goals, allowing everyone to challenge themselves at a level that suits their experience and fitness.
Please note that this is not a learn-to-ski program. Participants should already be comfortable skiing independently and have fundamental cross-country skiing skills.
We look forward to training with you this summer and skiing together this winter!
