Camp Notice: Teck Regional Snow Camp Okanagan 2026

*Updated October 2026: a Day Camp option has been added – see “Update to Camp Notice” below.*

This is an on-snow camp for athletes who reside in the Okanagan region. This weekend is also Silver Star’s Light Up weekend, and an evening event for camp participants will be planned around it. The On Snow Parade offers a perfect way to celebrate the start of winter on the hill.

Host Club: Sovereign Lake Nordic Club

Dates: Friday, December 4th, 2026 to Sunday, December 6th, 2026

Eligibility: Skiers born 2017-2009. Teck-branded t-shirts will be available for participants 16 and under. Athletes will have a chaperone for supervision, but they should be reasonably independent and able to organize their gear, get adequate rest, and prepare their morning meal with only minimal assistance.

Location: Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre and Silver Star Mountain Resort, Vernon, BC

Head Coach: Bertrand Hamoumraoui, Strathcona Nordics, Head Coach

Camp Contact: Kara Williamson, SLNC Volunteer

Ph: 604.698.8753 Email: ktriance@gmail.com

Overnight Camp Begins: Athletes and coaches check in at Firelight Lodge or Snowbird Lodge (front desk; your assignment to be confirmed) by 6pm on Friday, December 4, 2026. Please eat dinner before you arrive (dinner will NOT be provided on Friday).

Overnight Camp Ends: 12pm on Sunday, December 6, 2026. Pick-up for all athletes is at Sovereign Lake Nordic Club.

The camp has a full participation policy. Participants are expected to arrive at 6pm on Friday, December 4, and stay until the camp ends at 12pm on Sunday, December 6, 2026, unless signed up for the Day Camp. Activities will include on-snow training, a strength session, team building activities and an activity night.

Registration: Please confirm your attendance by registering on Zone4 (https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=42664). Registration closes at noon on Sunday, November 1, 2026. (Accommodation needs to be confirmed by November 2, 2026.)

Camp Fee: $295. For athletes, all costs are pooled costs for the camp and shared by all athletes to ensure inclusive options for all to participate. The fee includes accommodation, coaching support, administration, lunch, a catered dinner, snacks, and passes to the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre for both Saturday and Sunday.

*UPDATE TO CAMP NOTICE* – Day Camp Option (added October 2026)

Skiers with local accommodation (at home in the region, or their own family accommodation at Silver Star) may choose to participate as day camp athletes. There is no limit on day campers – the camp cap applies only to the secured overnight accommodation at Firelight Lodge and Snowbird Lodge.

Day Camp Fee: $200. Includes coaching support, administration, Saturday lunch, the Saturday catered dinner, snacks, and passes to the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre for Saturday and Sunday. Overnight accommodation and overnight chaperone supervision are not included.

Full participation still applies. Day camp athletes are asked to attend every camp session – the Friday evening welcome is optional, and both days on snow are expected, and the Saturday team dinner and evening activities. During the Saturday midday break, when overnight athletes return to their lodges, day campers will stay at the Sovereign Lake Day Lodge for supervised quiet time (bring homework, a book or games) or snow play at the sledding area. Families are responsible for driving day campers to each drop-off and from each pick-up below.

Already registered? Athletes registered for the overnight camp who have local accommodation may switch to the day camp option before registration closes at noon on Sunday, November 1, 2026, and receive a partial refund of $95 (the difference between the $295 overnight fee and the $200 day camp fee). To switch, email Kara Williamson at ktriance@gmail.com; refunds are processed by Sovereign Lake Nordic Club through Zone4. After November 1, accommodation is confirmed with SilverStar and no partial refunds can be offered.

New registrations: register on Zone4 and select the Day Camp option. Registration for both options closes at noon on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
